Rita Anne (Paolucci) Sorge

Rita Anne Sorge (née Paolucci) It is with great sadness that the family of Rita Anne Sorge (née Paolucci) of Beltsville, Maryland announce her passing on Saturday, June 13 2020, at the age of 71 . Born on July 2, 1948 in Washington, DC to the late Dr. Felix D. Paolucci and Geneva Bailey Paolucci, Rita Anne was the oldest of 12. She married Joseph (Joe) Sorge, Jr in 1968 and lived in Chillum, Maryland briefly before moving to Beltsville. In addition to Joseph, she is survived by her sons, Joseph, III (Lori) and Anthony William; grandchildren Winona Anne and Sophia Lynne; and her 11 siblings, Jean Clare, Daniel Felix (Karla), William Arthur (Beth), David, Kathryn Marie, Robert Michael (Teri), Patricia Ann (Doug), Pamela Mary (Joe), Michael Louis, Tina (John) and Philip Joseph. She will be forever cherished and remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. Rita Anne attended Regina High School in Hyattsville, Maryland. While in high school, she sang in the Regina choir with Mother Latitia, which led to her love of music and meeting her future husband Joseph, who sang in the St. John’s High School choir. She always had the sweetest smile of unconditional love and kindness for her family and friends. A devout Catholic and lifelong member of Holy Redeemer Church in College Park, Maryland, she volunteered for Meals-on-Wheels and participated in choir performances for Mass for Shut-ins. Rita Anne loved to express her faith in song and was an active member of the church choir for more than 30 years. She was an angel among us.
