Robert Ambler

Robert Ambler, 66, of Severn, Md. passed away on March 5th 2023 at his favorite place on earth, Pahoa, Hawaii. Robert had been on vacation with his good friend Jim Case when he became ill and was taken to the hospital, where he passed away with Jim at his side.

Robert graduated from Maryland University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and went on to work for various companies dealing with Naval projects. The last company he worked for before his retirement two years ago was British Aerospace.

Robert had always been in love with the location of Pahoa, Hawaii and rented the same house for several years before COVID came along to prevent his yearly visits. So this year, for the first time in awhile, he and Jim made the trip. On a previous trip Robert had planted a palm tree in memory of his mother Sharon, who had passed before him. Jim arranged to follow Robert's request and spread his ashes around that tree and, as a memory of Robert, planted another palm tree near his mother's.

Robert's surviving relatives are his father, Phillip Ambler; his sister, Dawna Ambler; and her two children: Laurel and Charlie.

Robert's ashes will forever be at his favorite location and next to his mother's memorial tree at Kalapana, Hawaii.
