Robert Patrick Attreed

Robert Patrick Attreed, 76 of Scaggsville, Maryland, passed away on Sunday July 17, 2022 surrounded by his loving friends and family. Robert was born on October 18, 1945 to Eugene Attreed and Elizabeth Mulligan Attreed in Manhattan, New York. After graduating from Our Lady of Good Counsel High School, Robert went on to join the Navy in 1964. Soon after serving his time in the Navy, Robert started a family. He was a doting father to his one and only child, Colleen Attreed. After his daughter was born, Robert started his career with Ottenberg's Bakery. He enjoyed his time with Ottenberg's and became a welcome face on his daily route for many years. Robert eventually retired from working in 2014 so he could spend more time with his beloved grandchildren, Ryan and Shannon. Robert prided himself in being able to take them to school and back and forth to their activities. Not only was Robert a dedicated family man, but he was a devoted Catholic. Robert was a member of the Resurrection Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus in Burtonsville for many years.  Robert loved spending time with his family and friends, but he was also passionate about his sports teams. Robert was a diehard Giants, Yankees, and Notre Dame fan. Robert would not have wanted us to mourn him, but instead remember him with a beer at the next Yankees game.

We know that Robert is now enveloped by the love of his parents Eugene and Elizabeth Attreed; his godmother Dorothy "Dottie" O'Neill; and his brother Charles "Charlie" Attreed, who passed before him. He is survived by his daughter Colleen Attreed and her partner Bob Breach, grandchildren Ryan Attreed and Shannon Attreed-Irvin, his great-granddaughter Rose Attreed, his brother's wife Karen Attreed, nephew Kevin Attreed and wife Michelle, niece Elizabeth Attreed and husband Doug, as well as many other members of his New York, New Jersey, and O'Neill family that loved him dearly.

A memorial service will be held at Donaldson Funeral Home P.A., 313 Talbott Avenue in Laurel, Maryland on Friday, July 22, 2022 at 1 PM. The family will receive friends from 12 PM until 1 PM
