Robert Kerry Bowman, affectionately known as Kerry, passed away on December 15, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and spirited energy. Born on August 18, 1957, in Savannah, Georgia.
Kerry brought a feisty zest for life that was evident in everything he did. He was not just a cherished individual in his own right but a unwavering believer in God. Kerry was dedicated to sharing his faith and found immense joy in inviting others to church and by being on the church's "Welcoming Committee" on Sunday Mornings.
Kerry had a variety of interests that defined him. He was passionate about working out and staying active, further exemplifying his strong will and determination. His love for dogs brought warmth to his days, offering companionship that he truly cherished. Kerry was also an enthusiastic cook, renowned for his 'famous' spaghetti, a dish that delighted family, friends and neighbors alike. Beyond the kitchen, he was an avid reader, with Charles Stanley being his favorite author, whose teachings resonated deeply with him.
Kerry's vibrant personality will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by his loving sister, Valerie Murphy; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and his beloved Church Family from First Baptist Church of Laurel. Each of them carries a part of Kerry's feisty spirit and deep faith, ensuring that his memory will continue to inspire.
Kerry wanted others to know that God is first in my life. He wanted people to have good thoughts of him and not to worry because he will be in a better place. Have a party!
Kerry now rests eternally with his beloved parents: Benjamin and Kay Frances [Forbes] Bowman; brother, James Bowman; and sister, Laurie Lahann. Together, they form a heavenly family that welcomed him with open arms.
As we reflect on Kerry’s life, we celebrate the love he shared, the laughter he brought, and the unwavering faith that he imparted to all who knew him. He leaves a legacy of love, kindness, and a reminder to embrace life with all its feistiness.
