Robert J. Dame, 80, passed away on Nov. 6, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Baltimore. He was born on June 18, 1933, in South Boston, Massachusetts, to the late Frank and Sally Dame. He was a Laurel resident for more than 30 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a Korean War Veteran. He worked for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in many capacities, retiring after 41 years of service. He was active in the Montpelier community and St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Among other interests, he loved to build models for his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Elizabeth Dame; his children Theresa Miller (Richard), Thomas Dame (Denise Duval), Susan Franklin (Jeffrey), Kathleen Litzenberg (William), and Michael Dame (Bethany); and siblings Charles and Gerard Dame and Mary Earnest. He also is survived by his grandchildren Sara, Emily, Ryan, Daniel, Matthew, Will, Grace, Samuel, and Anabel. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Frank Dame.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at DONALDSON FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 313 Talbott Ave., Laurel, MD 20707. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at 11 a.m. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 8603 Contee Road, Laurel, MD 20707. Interment will follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1850 York Road, Suite D, Timonium, MD 21093.
