Robert Dingley

Robert Bruce Dingley, affectionately known as Bobby, passed away on June 7, 2026. He was born to Margaret Cain and Robert Dingley on February 16, 1946.

Robert was truly one of a kind—a kind, stylish, and unforgettable gentleman whose presence brought joy and laughter to those around him. He was, quite simply, a very cool guy.

Robert became a resident of Caroline Center on June 9, 2022. From the moment he arrived, he brought with him a larger-than-life personality and a warm, loving spirit. Robert was never shy about expressing how he felt, and his honesty was one of the many qualities that made him so special.

He had a kind heart and was always quick to offer compliments to those around him, making others feel appreciated and valued. Robert loved looking his best and took great pride in his appearance. He enjoyed showing off his rings, jewelry, and stylish outfits. You could rarely find him without his signature cowboy hat and sunglasses, which perfectly matched his cool and confident personality.

One thing Robert never left behind was his wallet and money. Before heading anywhere, he would always make sure he had his wallet with him—it was simply a must! He also loved showing off his newest clothes and shoes and enjoyed choosing his own outfit each day.

Robert was a devoted fan of The Three Stooges, which was by far his favorite television show and movie series. He absolutely loved those guys and built an impressive collection of Three Stooges memorabilia, including DVDs, clothing, and collectibles. He could spend hours enjoying their antics and never seemed to tire of watching them.

In addition to his love for The Three Stooges, Robert enjoyed playing board games and coloring pictures, activities that brought him joy and allowed him to spend quality time with others. He also loved being outdoors and appreciated any opportunity to enjoy the fresh air and nice weather. Whether he was relaxing outside or sharing laughs with friends, Robert found happiness in life's simple pleasures.

One person whom Robert absolutely loved and cherished was his brother, John Dingley. John held a very special place in Robert’s heart, and he never missed an opportunity to tell others how much he loved his brother. Robert proudly displayed photos of the two of them on the walls of his room and throughout the home, keeping those treasured memories close to him every day.

Their bond remained strong through regular phone conversations, shared celebrations, and the special moments they continued to enjoy together, including celebrating birthdays. Robert often spoke about John with great affection, and even in the days leading up to his passing, he continued to talk about his beloved brother.

There is no doubt that Robert will be deeply missed. His absence leaves a void in the hearts of everyone who knew him. The participants and staff at Caroline Center will miss him immensely and will forever be grateful for the privilege of knowing such a kind, caring, and unforgettable soul.

Rest in eternal peace, our dear friend. Your memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved you.
