Robert Edward Dwyer

Robert (Bob) Edward Dwyer, born in Eddington, PA, peacefully passed away while surrounded by his wife and family on September 24, 2021, at the age of 81.  He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Elizabeth Kay (Schok) Dwyer and two children, Sharon and husband Mark Cohee, Jeffrey and wife Elizabeth (Eliz) Dwyer, five grandchildren Ashley Cohee, Emily Cohee, Nathan Cohee, Clayton Dwyer and Hannah Dwyer, two siblings, Helen Simmons and John James Dwyer; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bob proudly served in the United States Army after attending Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA and graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He then worked as an aerospace engineer for Goddard Space Flight Center, Computer Science Corporation (CSC), Ford Aerospace, Loral Aerospace, and retired from Lockheed Martin as a Director in 2000. Bob worked on the ground system for the Hubble Space Telescope and many other aerospace programs and was able to travel to numerous launches at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. He enjoyed an active retirement, spending time attending the grandchildren's sports games, bowling, golfing, fishing, skiing and taking nature walks.  He most enjoyed going on vacations to Long Beach Island, NJ, Ocean City, MD, and many ski resorts in Colorado and here on the East coast.  He lived in Laurel, MD for 54 years. Friends and relatives may visit Thursday October 7, from 6:00-9:00pm at Donaldson Funeral Home in Laurel, MD (313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, MD 20707).  A Christian Burial will take place on Friday, October 8, at 10:00am at the Chapel at Donaldson Funeral Home in Laurel.  Interment will immediately follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery Crownsville, MD (1122 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville, MD 21032).
