Robert Lee Whiting
January 24, 1941 — January 18, 2016
Robert Lee Whiting, age 74, of Laurel passed away Monday January 18, 2016 at his home.
Robert was a lifetime resident of Laurel, he served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He married Wanda in 1961 and they were married over 50 years, she passed away on April 20, 2015. Robert was employed and retired from Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 60 in Laurel, VFW 8097 in Elkridge and the Marine Corp League. He enjoyed gardening, reading, history and was very patriotic. Bob (Robert) also loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchrildren.
Mr. Whiting is survived by his daughter Annette Mittleider, son in law Ron Mittleider, son James Michael Whiting and grandchildren Joshua Whiting, Samantha Jahn, Zachary Jahn and Allie Mittleider. Robert is also survived by his siblings; Mary Pinkard, Sandra Willis, Darlene Schildt, Stewart Whiting, James Whiting and Joey Whiting.
Inurnment will take place at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Crownsville on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 1:00 PM.
