Roberta Jane Armstrong

Roberta Jane (Bobbi) Armstrong, née Collins, 78, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer.

She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Beverly Collins; her son, Clifton V. Graves; and her sister, Colleen Cochran. Bobbi is survived by her devoted husband, Larry Armstrong; her daughter, Tammy Smith (Rick); five grandchildren: Joseph Groeger, John B. Groeger (Erin), Jenny Mortensen (Steven), Marissa Corbin (Ward), and Angel Graves (Jacob); and many beloved great-grandchildren.

A native of Washington, D.C., Bobbi attended Anacostia High School. In 1964, she married Vernon (Reggie) R. Graves and moved to LaPlata, Maryland, where they welcomed their two children, Tammy and Cliff. While her primary focus was as a dedicated mother and homemaker, Bobbi also shared her talents with the Charles County Public Schools as a cook and baker, and later worked as a print technician for Automated Graphics in White Plains.

In 1986, Bobbi met Larry Armstrong, and the two were wed in 1992. They made Laurel, Maryland their home, where Bobbi continued her career in the printing industry, working for Laurel Printing, RPG Printing, and Jimco Printing.

Following her retirement in 2010, Bobbi embraced her favorite activities - working in her gardens at home, cooking and baking, dancing, spoiling her dogs, and spending time with her grandchildren. She found great joy in cruising and vacationing in Aruba and Las Vegas. Above all, Bobbi was a devoted "dog mom" to her rescues, Flyer and Sweetpea. She was a fixture at the Maryland City dog park, where she cherished the company of dear friends and their pups.

Viewing: Thursday, May 7 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Funeral Services: Friday, May 8 at 10:00 am.

Location: Donaldson Funeral Home, 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, MD 20707.

Interment: 11:00 am at Maryland National Memorial Cemetery, 13300 Baltimore Avenue, Laurel, Maryland.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bobbi’s honor to the American Cancer Society.
