Roberta Louise "Bobby" Gasparovic, age 71, of Laurel, MD, died Saturday, May 4, 2013, at University Of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD.
Roberta was born on April 2, 1942 in the Bronx, New York to the late Helen (nee Dulkiewicz) and the late Hans George Schmitt. Shortly after her birth she moved with her family to Kingston, New York. After high school Bobby attended Marymount College in Tarrytown, New York and earned a BA degree in Mathematics. She continued her education at Fordham University and earned her Master's degree Mathematics.
Roberta worked as a teacher at both Fordham University in New York and Keane College in Union, New Jersey. After moving to Laurel, Maryland in 1971, Bobby became a stay at home mom and full time homemaker.
Bobby is survived by her husband of 47 years Richard F. Gasparovic, and a daughter, Alicia Gasparovic and her husband Michael Petrocik of Langhorne, PA and a son Michael Gasparovic of Arlington, VA. Bobby is also survived by one sister, Geraldine Henderson of Kingston, NY. Roberta is predeceased by her parents and one sister, Marcela Schmitt.
Arrangements are being handled by Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A., at 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, MD where the family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Wednesday, May 8, 2013. Funeral service will be at St. Mary of The Mills Roman Catholic Church at 10:00 AM, Thursday, May 9, 2013.
