Rocky Arauzo, one of the first Spanish heritage persons to own an automobile repair shop in Hyattsville, passed away at his home on Saturday, February 23, 2013. Mr. Arauzo was born in Junin, Peru, on August 11, 1924, to Teofilo and Justa Arauzo. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and went on to continue his education at George Washington University. Rocky then went on to own his own automobile shop, Rocky's Transmissions. Rocky is survived by his children Marie (Jeff) Waldo, Sharon (Richard) Nuzback and Rocky (Jackie) Arauzo; sisters Clorinda Arauzo and Victoria Arauzo; brother Abundio Arauzo; and his former spouse and mother of his only children, Maria T. Sedoti. He is also survived his grandchildren:Candice, Steve, Debbie (Robert), Danny, Joanna, Erica (John), Rocky and Faith; and his great-grandchildren Sean, Lilly, Cameron, Brandi, Aubrey, Brady and Brayden. Mr. Arauzo was predeceased by his daughter Deborah Arauzo. A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, from 5 until 8pm, at the Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A., 313 Talbott Ave., Laurel. Interment will be private.
