Ruth Naomi Deshazor

Ruth Naomi DeShazor, age 92, passed away on September 17, 2015 in Luray, Virginia.

Mrs. DeShazor was born on January 22, 1923 in Burtonsville, Maryland to the late Richard Beall and the late Susie (nee Gore) Beall.  Ruth was raised in Burtonsville and lived the majority of her life there until moving to Luray 8 years ago.  Ruth and her husband, the late Francis E. DeShazor lived in their home for over 50 years.

Mrs. DeShazor was very active at the Liberty Grove United Methodist Church in Burtonsville and also in the Belles & Beaux adult fellowship group at the church.  Mrs. DeShazor was an original member of the Ladies Auxillary of the Burtonsville Volunteer Fire Department and also served on the Board of Directors for Union Cemetery in Burtonsville, Maryland.

Mrs. DeShazor was the loving wife to the late Francis E. DeShazor, the beloved mother to Roy DeShazor and his wife Glenna, sister of Richard Beall and the late James Beall and his wife Bettie.  Ruth was the grandmother to Cheryl Jones, great grandmother to Cory DeShazor and Marissa Griffith and the great great grandmother of Arabella Stover.  Ruth is also survived by many  nieces and nephews.  Ruth was predeceased by her great granddaughter Morgan Griffith.

A visitation will be held in the Chapel of the Donaldson Funeral Home, 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, Md on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM where funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM. Funeral services will be under the direction of Pastor Laura Stratton from the Page United Methodist Church in Luray, Virginia.
