Sharon Singh, 72 of Sandwich, NH, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

She was born May 6, 1954 to John and Katherine Castle in Gloucester, MA.

Sharon worked as a Classified Document Specialist for Booz Allen Hamilton before leaving the workforce to become a full time mother and homemaker.

Sharon lived her life unapologetically as herself. She grew up in Gloucester, Massachusetts, a distinctive working fishing town whose grit, character, hardships, and charm helped shape the person she became. As the daughter of an Army serviceman, her childhood and young adulthood also took her around the world. She eventually made a home in Munich, Germany, where she lived for 15 years before returning to the United States and settling in the Washington, D.C. area.

Sharon was endlessly curious and a voracious reader who loved books, crafts, gardening, cats, and anything that allowed her creativity and imagination to flourish. She had a wonderfully independent spirit, a strong sense of who she was, and a rare ability to simply like what she liked and be who she was, regardless of what anyone else thought.

Throughout her life, Sharon formed lasting friendships and found community wherever she called home. She spent many years in Maryland raising her family and building relationships with friends, neighbors, and extended family, and later made a home for herself in New Hampshire, where she became part of another close-knit community she deeply treasured. Sharon will be remembered for her individuality, her curiosity, her creativity, and above all, for being entirely and unmistakably herself.

Sharon is survived by her daughter, Anjuli Katherine Singh, and her niece, Raechel Rose Rivera. She is also survived by her sister, Allison Castle, and her ex-husband, Riptapan Singh.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Katherine Castle and father, John “Jack” Castle, as well as her brother, Glenn Allen Castle.

Services will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at 2 pm. A small reception will follow at a nearby location.
