Sharon Christine Wentland

Sharon Christine Wentland of Laurel, MD passed away on December 12, 2025. She was 60 years old. Born on September 11, 1965, to Herbert and Jean Nickel, Sharon was a lifelong resident of Maryland. She married her husband Kenneth Wentland on April 8, 1995, and together they started a family. Sharon was a kind and caring soul who spent her working years helping students as a Guidance Secretary for the Howard County public school system.

Sharon loved taking care of her family in any way she could; she took great pride in planning fun events, especially their annual Ocean City trips. She also enjoyed cooking and experimenting with recipes. While some experiments in the kitchen worked and some did not, her efforts and care were always appreciated. In addition to cooking, she enjoyed arts and crafts, attending craft fairs, reading, and decorating her home. Sharon was always prepared, no matter where she went or what she was doing; in every situation, she always saw the rainbow and sun shining brightly. Her warmth and spirit will be remembered by all that knew and loved her.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; she leaves behind her dear husband of over 30 years, Kenneth Wentland; beloved children Zachary (Zach) Wentland and Samantha (Sam Wentland); brothers Eric Nickel and Mark Nickel; sister Lisa Goldstein, and many dear friends.
