Shirley Lee Burton

Shirley Lee Burton, a lifelong resident of Laurel, passed away on November 22, 2016 at the Gilchrist Hospice Care Center in Howard County. She was 78. She was born on March 31, 1938 to the late Walter and Helen Bryan. She was a graduate of Sherwood High School in Burtonsville. She retired in 2015 as a cafeteria worker from Howard County Schools after 20 years. Shirley was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed being around her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Bird Burton; daughter Pam Burton; and grandson Christopher Burton. She is survived by her son Thomas Burton, Jr.; grandchildren Morgan Cochran, Ryan Cochran, and Bryan Burton; sisters Louise Gartrell and Roberta Devers; and son-in-law Gilbert Cochran.
