Shirley F. Johnson

Shirley F. Johnson, 77, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at her residence. She has been a Laurel resident for the past 50 years and was one of the original owners in MD City subdivision. She was born on December 12, 1934 in Carlisle, PA to the late John Stewart and Lulu Jane McAlister. She retired after 26 years from Safeway in Bowie as a deli clerk. She enjoyed gardening, shopping, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved the Old Country Buffet, she thought of it as her "second home".
She is survived by her husband Edwin L. Johnson; children Keith Johnson, Lou Ann Crosby, Randy "RJ" Johnson and Isabel Byron; siblings Janet Rhodes, Mabel Grasse, Bruce and Len McAlister. She is also survived by her grandchildren Joey, Jessie, Jackie, Justin, Katie, Kylen, Meagen, Nicole, Amy, Daniel, Chad and Troy and her great-grandchildren Hailey, Taylor, Keith, Austin, Jacob, Lexy, Hope, Hunter, Ryan, Kamryn, and Dylan.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 18, 2012 from 5-9 pm at DONALDSON FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, MD 20707 where funeral services will be held at 12 noon. Interment will follow at Maryland National Memorial Park.
