Shirley M. Ray
June 23, 1935 — January 10, 2015
Shirley M. Ray, 79, passed away on January 10, 2015 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Laurel before moving to Mt. Airy just over a year ago. Shirley was born on June 23, 1935 in Burtonsville to the late Jesse and Lida Vermillion. She enjoyed playing Bingo and was a member of the American Legion and Moose Lodge.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband in 2009 Richard Ray. She is survived by her children Brian Ray and his wife Michelle, Brenda Dellavalle and her husband Richard, Ricky and Alan Ray, and Jennifer Solley and her husband Matt; grandchildren Robert, Little Brian, Troy, Tony, Nick, Brianna, Jesse, Robbie, Savannah, Emma, Levi, and Tristan; great-grandchildren Troy and Daniel and her dog Coco.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at DONALDSON FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, MD 20707 where funeral services were held on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 11:00 am. Interment followed at Ivy Hill Cemetery.
