Simpson Gerald Gregoire, affectionately known as Sizo, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Sizo was born on the island of Dominica in the eastern Caribbean. He migrated to Maryland in 1979 and, in 1981, married his beloved wife, Nina (nee Bertrand) Gregoire, in St. Thomas. Together, they raised three children. Sizo was also a devoted father to three older sons. He was the second of ten children born to his parents, both of whom predeceased him.

A gifted and accomplished football player, Sizo earned his lifelong nickname for his remarkable ability to tackle the ball away from opponents. Football was more than a sport to him—it was a vehicle for mentorship, discipline, and growth. Through his Pottersville Football Academy in Dominica, he combined athletic skill with life lessons to guide and inspire countless young boys and girls.

Sizo retired from Fannie Mae in 2007, after which he divided his time between Dominica and Maryland. Known for his calm spirit, wisdom, and steady presence, he was deeply loved and respected by many. His guidance, generosity, and quiet strength left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Sizo was part of a large and close-knit family and extended community across Dominica, the United States, Canada, and England.

Sizo will be deeply missed by many.
