Stacey Marie Vaughn Talley

Stacey Marie Vaughn-Talley transitioned peacefully in Rockville, Maryland on May 13th, 2023.  A native of Washington, D.C., Stacey was born October 17th, 1961 at Georgetown Hospital to the proud parents of  Thomasine Vaughn and the late Cephas Vaughn.

Stacey graduated from High Point High School in Beltsville, Maryland and would advance her studies by attending and graduating from Mount Ida College, Newton, Massachusetts, Frostburg State University, Frostburg, Maryland and Maryland University, College Park, Maryland.

Accomplished in her field of study Early Childhood Education, Stacey’s many years of academic and professional excellence would manifest itself as lead teacher, secretary, site director, consultant, principal presenter, director and vice president that would allow her to impact educational policy, administration, training, volunteer work, certification families and children throughout the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. Stacey held membership with the Washington Association of Child Care Centers, National Committee for Children, National Institute of Early Care and Education and Professional Teacher’s Association.

Stacey’s down time was filled with self care days, listening to music, writing, watching sports (football, basketball and boxing were her favorites) but she enjoyed it all. Mostly, Stacey found gratification in giving to others, and always sought out comfort and strength through reading her bible and spending time with family.

Stacey was preceded in death by her father Cephas Vaughn, her brother Rodney Vaughn and her husband Micheal Talley. She is survived by her mother Thomasine Vaughn, one daughter Shakalia Talley, one grandson Braylon Talley, one sister Dina (Toni) Vaughn Johnson, one brother in law Erick Johnson, one niece Brianna Johnson, one nephew Branden Johnson, one great nephew Kannon Johnson and many friends and family.
