Stephen Michael Scardina, Sr., 66, of Laurel, passed away April 28, 2015. He was born on January 6, 1949 in Washington, D.C. to Bartholomew M. Scardina, Sr. and Nina Marie (Perruso)
Scardina. He is survived by his loving son, Stephen Michael Scardina, Jr., granddaughter, LaCie Grace Scardina, brother Bartholomew M. Scardina, Jr., sister Jeannie (Scardina) Lindsley, many nieces, nephews and beloved friends. "
A lifelong Laurel resident, Stephen graduated from Laurel High School and served in the Armed Forces until March 1975. Upon returning from service, he followed in his father's footsteps to
become a barber in the family business, Bart's Barber Shop, established in 1956. He later opened the doors to his own business, The Hair House. Today, he and his brother, Bart, still
operate both establishments, sharing space in Laurel Shopping Center.
