Steve Robert Dolce

Steve Robert Dolce Sr., of Laurel, MD died Friday December 13, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. He was born May 25th 1951 to Matthew and Beulalys Dolce in Laredo, TX. His family moved to Laurel in 1967 and he graduated from Laurel High in 1969. Steve enlisted in the Army the same year, specializing in communications and served one tour of duty in Vietnam. He ended his service at Fort Meade, MD.

In 1970 he married Kathleen O'Rourke and they had two sons.

In 1979 he became an employee of C&P Telephone. His employment with the phone company spanned the next decades as C&P Telephone Company became Bell Atlantic and finally Verizon. He retired in 2012 after 32 years.

Steve always had a great appreciation for music and loved going to concerts. He enjoyed golf and hunting in Texas with his brother, Don.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kathleen O'Rourke Dolce of Laurel, a son Steve Robert Dolce Jr of Elkridge MD, a granddaughter Stevie Lynn Dolce of Elkridge, two grandsons Seaman William Taylor
Cadwell USN serving in Bahrain, and Tanner Preston Cadwell attending school in California, a brother, Donald Dolce and his wife, Winnie of Dallas TX, two sisters, Marianne Dolce Hamadock of Ashburn VA, and Karen Halloran of Savannah, GA, and many nieces and nephews.

Steve was preceded in death in 2009 by a son, Christopher Matthew Dolce.

Services will be held on Tuesday, December 17th at Donaldsons Funeral Home.
