Thomas "Tom" Burton

On Saturday, June 8, 2013, Thomas "Tom" Burton, Sr. passed away at the Gilchrist Center of Howard County. Mr. Burton was born in Burtonsville, on April 8, 1936, to Walter and Minnie Burton. He was a landscaper and a veteran of the US Army. Mr. Burton is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shirley L. Burton; his son Thomas "T Bird" Burton; sisters Charlotte Carr, Irene Baker and Edna Wilson and his brother Raymond Burton. He is also survived by grandchildren Bryan Burton, Chris Burton, Ryan Cochran and Morgan Cochran and 3 great-grandchildren. His daughter, Pamela Burton Cochran, passed away in 2007. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 12 from 2 until 5 pm at the Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A.. A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, June 13 at 11 am, in the chapel of the Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A., 313 Talbott Ave., Laurel, MD. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Burtonsville.
