Trevor Leroy Yarde was born on February 25, 1946, in St. Michael, Barbados, to the late Marjorie Skeete and Clarence Carter. He was the second of three children. He attended Wesley Hall Primary School and Richmond High School before beginning his career at the Barbados Advocate Newspaper and later Pebbles Beach Restaurant.
In 1969, Trevor migrated to the United States, where he met the love of his life, the late Judy Yarde. They were united in marriage on April 24, 1976, and together raised a blended family of eight children.
Trevor worked for more than eighteen years at Schrader Corporation, a women's apparel manufacturer, before relocating his family to Maryland in 1989. He later joined MedStar Washington Hospital Center, where he remained a dedicated employee until his retirement in January 2026.
Trevor was a man who spoke his mind and made no apologies for it. A straight shooter with strong opinions, he believed in telling it like it was, whether you wanted to hear it or not! Although he could be quick-tempered, he also possessed a generous heart. Those who knew Trevor understood that what you saw was what you got.
In April 2026, Trevor experienced a serious health challenge that significantly limited the use of his upper body. The family extends heartfelt appreciation to Ms. Iris for the exceptional care and compassion she provided to Trevor and his late wife, Judy.
On Thursday, October 15, 2026, Trevor departed this life. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judy Yarde, and daughter, Myna Yarde.
He leave to cherish his memory five children: Shawn Yarde (N'kisha), Ryan Yarde, Antonio Burgess, Taticha Burgess, and Pamela Davdison (Maurice); two stepchildren; sister Yvonne Broome; brother Anthony Skeete (Jennifer); three brother-in-law; one sister-in-law; grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
