Viola Inez Whipps

Viola Inez Whipps, age 88, of Sykesville, MD, died Saturday, February 25, 2012, at Hillside House in Clarksville, MD. Mrs. Whipps was born on May 1, 1923 to the late William and Ellen (nee Bowman) Semones.
Mrs. Whipps moved to Barbersville, MD (now Maryland City) and then to West Laurel where she spent the majority of her life. She moved to Sykesville in 2007.
Mrs. Whipps was very active in the New Hope Seventh Day Adventist Church in Burtonsville, Maryland.
Mrs. Whipps was employed by Leland Memorial Hospital as a cook.
Mrs. Whipps is survived by her children; Catheryne Rowan of Columbia, MD, Ray Reeley of Laurel, MD and Linda O'Dell of Columbia, MD. She is also survived by her sister Claudia Bunny Miller of Laurel Fork, VA. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Leslie Reeley.
A memorial funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2012 beginning at 1:00 PM at the Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A., 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, Maryland. Interment will follow at Meadowridge Memorial Park.
