Virginia "Pat" Staten

Virginia "Pat" Staten, 90, died on January 2, 2012 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, MD. She has been a Laurel resident for 46 years. She was born on May 24, 1921 in Tennessee. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Laurel for 20 years, Laurel Senior Friendship Club, and the United Methodist Women (UMW). She retired in 1981 from the Veterans Administration Hospital as a Dental Assistant. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph S. Staten in 2009. She is survived by her daughter Becky Ahlquist and her husband Tommy; siblings Dianne Barker, Ronnie and Charlie Patterson; grandchildren Joe Ahlquist, Sissy Budd, Jessica Rhodes, Stephen Ahlquist, and Carrie Ahlquist; and great-grandchildren Owen, Oliver, Will, Brady, Ruby, Peyton, Jane, and Carter. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, January 6, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at DONALDSON FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, MD 20707 where a memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am. Inurnment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
