Waldo B. King

Waldo B. King, 94, passed away on December 10, 2013, at Montgomery County General Hospital. He was born on May 28, 1919, to the late Gladys H. Suttle in Harper, West Virginia. He was a decorated Veteran having served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Battle of the Bulge, European theater. Waldo was a longtime resident of Greenbelt, MD. There he was a Charter member, and ultimately Sunday School Superintendent at Greenbelt Baptist Church. He later retired to Spotsylvania, Virginia. He was a member of Craig's Baptist Church in Spotsylvania, and Hope Baptist Church in Laurel, and served as a Deacon in both churches.
He did a great deal of volunteer work, was a member of the American Legion and was a faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, whom he loved.

From his wife: "Waldo was a devoted husband, a loving father, a precious grandfather and proud great grandfather".

He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years Muriel B. King; loving children Susan Wason and her husband Robert, Steven W. King and his wife Boni, and David L. King; siblings Bernice Raines, Delbert Suttle, Freema Burley, and Scott Suttle; Nancy, Virginia, Leon, and Wilbert having predeceased him. He is also survived by his grandchildren Rebecca Wilson and her husband Kevin, Ryan Wason and his wife Virginia, Steven E. King and his wife Heloise, Michelle King, and Renee McCombe and her husband David; and great-grandchildren Anne, Ivy May, Steven, and Matthew.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 20, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Donaldson Funeral Home Chapel, 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, MD 20707. To be followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. A private military funeral will follow at MD Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
