William Earl Bryant, Sr., age 79, of Laurel, MD, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 12, 2013, at his residence.
Mr. Bryant was born in North Carolina on December 18, 1933 to the late William Henry Bryant and the late Mary Boyette Bryant.
After graduating high school, Mr. Bryant entered the U.S. Army and served faithfully for 22 years before retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. He served in the Army during the Korean and Vietnam wars. His military career took him to several bases in the United States as well as France, Germany, Vietnam and Thailand.
After retiring from the Army in 1977, he starting working for Hi-Gear Auto Parts, ultimately retiring as the manager in the late 1980's. After retiring from Hi-Gear Mr. Bryant enjoyed spending his time in his garden and tinkering on cars.
Mr. Bryant was a member of the American Legion and the NRA
He is survived by his wife; Elsie Bryant, daughters, Selina, Sonja and Sylvia and sons William and David. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters in North Carolina; Ann Curtis, Jennell Warren, Hilton Keel, Jr. Shirley K Gardner, Ruth K. Farmer and Rollan Louise Corey. Mr. Bryant also leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at the Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A., 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, MD beginning at 11:30 AM and continuing until the service begins at 12:30 PM. Interment will follow with Military Honors at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Crownsville.
