William A. Hawkins

July 27, 1930 — February 1, 2013

William A. Hawkins died Friday, February 1st at the age of 82. A Laurel resident of 46 years. His parents Albert and Mabel Hawkins preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Ann M. Barnes Hawkins, daughters Deborah Hulse of Elkridge and Marjorie Beatty of Ashton, Grandchildren Anneke Thommen, Brian Haley, Hillary Hulse, Reanna Beatty and Tyler Beatty and a son-in-law Craig Hulse. Bill retired after 30 years as a Maintenance Engineer for the Maryland State Highway Administration. Bill was a member of many organizations; Masons of Laurel, the Shriners of Ft. Myers, Fl., and the American Legion of Laurel, Md. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Laurel. He served as president of the Jessup Volunteer Fire Department for many years, and a member for 50 years. He was a member and served as Assistant Secretary of Maryland Firemans Association for 16 years. His family will miss him deeply and request in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church of Laurel or Opportunity Builder, Inc. of Maryland.
A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Laurel on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 11 AM. Inurnment Maryland National Cemetery.
