William Gray Whitehead, Jr.

William "Billy" Whitehead Jr., 83, of Manchester,  MD., passed away Saturday February 24, 2024, surrounded by his family.

Billy was born in Laurel, MD on April 14, 1940 by the late William G. And Gladys M (Poe) Whitehead.

Billy is survived by his wife of 66 years, J. Delores (Rice) Whitehead;  and four children: Jane Taylor (Tom), Carol Federici (Jim), Lisa Craft,  and William (Bill) Whitehead III (Jennifer); nine grandchildren: Tom, Katie, Lauren, Krystal, Tim, Gavin, Robert, Ashley, and Sarah; 11 great-grandchildren,  and 1 great, great grandchild.

He was proceeded in death by son, Robert; and two brothers: Ronald (Ronnie) and Robert (Brent) Whitehead.

Billy retired from the fire and water restoration business,  but was a life long carpenter and farmer. He had a great love for animals, but he especially loved his horses and dogs.

Billy's greatest love was spending time with his family and playing with the kids. He was a great story teller of the good ol' days. He enjoyed putting puzzles together, and bird and squirrel watching.

Services will be held at Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A. in Laurel, MD., on Friday March 1, 2024
