Zarina Allahrakha

Zarina Yousaf Allahrakha was born January 1st, 1938 in Peshawar, Pakistan. She was the eldest of three children born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Sohan Lal Din.

After completing her Primary Education, she attended the West Pakistan Nursing Services Council where she completed a double major; Registered Nurse and Midwifery in November 1963. Her first job was at Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar as a Registered Staff Nurse, April 1965.

She married Yousaf Allahrakha on February 20th 1965 at St John’s Cathedral, in Peshawar. They moved to Karachi, where they worked at Karachi Adventist Hospital as Registered Nurses.

The hospital Campus included the Karachi Seventh Day Adventist Church, Karachi Adventist Hospital, Seventh Day Adventist Education facilities and homes for those who worked on campus. Yousaf and Zarina worked at the Hospital and raised their four children on that campus. Yousaf worked during the day as a Surgical Supervisor and Zarina worked nights as a Registered Nurse. During the day, she volunteered her time at the campus elementary school tutoring students in math, and making sure her children were well taken care of.

Yousaf preceded her in death. She is survived by their children, Sabir Allahrakha, Amir Allahrakha, Nasir Allahrakha and Sabrina Allahrakha. A daughter-in-law Agnes, a daughter-in-law Carolyn a son-in law Jonathan Sr and eight grandchildren… Shaun, Anton, Carlton, Ashton, Shane, Carrisa, Morgan and Jonathan Jr. She is proceeded by two brothers, Nasim Raza and Shamim Raza…she leaves nieces and nephews Noreen, Naveed, Shazia, Nazia and Shahid.
