Barbara Moe Obituary

Barbara Ann (Burley) Moe was a caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She left the world following a brief illness on April 4, 2022 at the age of 91.

She was born in Washington, DC on December 15, 1930. She met her husband of 68 years, Robert (Bob) Moe just before he deployed to Korea. They wed upon his return on January 16, 1954 and had four children.

Barbara loved her community, her church and her family. She devoted her life to raising her children and was an exemplary volunteer in various PTA’s, sports organizations, and scouting.

When their family was grown, she and Bob became volunteers at the Greater Laurel Beltsville Hospital when it opened in 1978 and spent most Friday nights at the information desk for 36 years. She was a 50 year member of the First United Methodist Church in Laurel, Maryland.

Barbara enjoyed crafting, gardening, cooking, visiting neighbors and friends, but most of all, she loved her family.

Barbara is predeceased by her mother, Olive Selby Burley, her sister, Lorraine Summers and her brother, James Burley.

She is survived by her loving husband, Robert (Bob) Moe; her four children: Stephen (Kelly) Moe, Lorie (Walter) Smallets, Craig Moe and Brian (Joann) Moe; her seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to the First United Methodist Church in Laurel, Maryland or The Laurel Volunteer Fire Department in Laurel, Maryland. Arrangements were made by Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A. Laurel, Maryland.
