Bernard Ronald Stanislaus Buczynski of Laurel Maryland passed away November 4, 2021 peacefully at his home with his wife Carol and his son Michael by his side. He was born in 1935 to the late Jan and Franciszka Buczynski in Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania. Bernie was a founding member of the Resurrection of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church as well as an active member of the American Legion Post 60 in Laurel. He will be remembered for his ability to tell amazing stories, his wonderful laugh, his love of singing, and being with family and friends. He worked hard his entire life to give his family the best he could and he lived a blessed life.
Bernie was a dedicated educator who retired from the Anne Arundel County School System after a long career and was the former Vice Principal of Southern High School and Glen Burnie High School. He took great pride in meeting former students out and about and learning of their success in life. In his retirement he loved to go fishing with his sons and grandchildren, spending time at the Maryland Live Casino, meeting with friends at the Legion, and going on trips with his Church group. He knew everyone, loved having long conversations and had a personality that everyone was drawn to.
He is survived by his wife Carol, his sons: Bernie Jr,(Sue), Brian (Laura), and Michael (Sarah); grandchildren: Madison (Lavonn), Amanda, Megan (Nick), Stephen, Ava, and Noah.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers and sisters Stella, John, Bertha, Lottie, Leo, Frank, Jenny, Joseph, and Stanley.
A celebration of life will be on Wednesday November 10th at 10 am at the Resurrection of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church in Laurel with a small reception immediately after.
