Billy Joe Carr

Billy Joe Carr passed away on Friday, May 28th at his home. He was born in Guntersville, Alabama and went to High School there, Mr. Carr played many sports in high school including basketball, football and baseball. In later years he enjoyed playing softball. Billy Joe and his late wife, Carol, lived in Laurel, Maryland since the 1960's.

He retired from NASA after 30 years where he served as a sergeant in the security department and he was also involved in truck driving. Free time was filled with woodworking and travel. He enjoyed working in his  lawn. 

His wife Carol passed away in 2016. Survivors include his 5 children and their spouses, William Carr (Tamara), Andrew Carr (Ranae), Tony Carr (Julie), Sarah Sincuir (Odilio) and Christopher Carr (Lisa); 10 grandchildren, Hailey, Zachary, Allison, Justin, Nick, Taylor, Jeremy, Lauren, Matthew and Shania and his siblings Ray, Charles, Betty, Jerry and Josephine.

Visitation will be held at the Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A. 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, MD 20707 on Wednesday, June 2 from 5 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, June 3 at 11 AM. Interment Union Cemetery.
