Obituary
Buddy Ray Clayton, 81, of Laurel, Md. and Burlington, NC passed away at White Oak Medical Center on April 27, 2022. Born on August 16, 1940 in Mebane, NC, son of Thomas Albert and Eula Taylor Clayton, both deceased. He served honorably in the United States Air Force from 1963 - 1967. He lived in Laurel, Md. and worked for the USPS from 1968 until retiring in 1993. Mr. Clayton is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ida Edwards Clayton and his children Jeffrey Clayton of Wilmington, NC and Elizabeth Clayton Correia of Hagerstown, Md. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his nine grandchildren, Casey, Lucas, Tyler, Alexis, Zachary, Evan, Travis, Mason, and Jameson. He is also survived by his brother Jimmy Clayton and two sisters, JoAnn Clayton and Linda Jacobs and many cherished cousins, nieces, and nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Grace Cole.
Visitation will be held in Laurel, Md. at Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A. on Saturday, April 30th from 2-4pm.
Services in Burlington, NC are scheduled for Saturday, May 7th at Lowe’s Funeral Home.
Visitation from 2:45 to 3:45pm
Memorial Service at 4pm in the Chapel at Lowe’s.
Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Buddy Clayton to the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
