Concetta Panella, 95, passed away on October 7, 2019 in her home, surrounded by loved ones.
She was born on December 8, 1923 to Paul and Carmela Cocchiaro.
She worked for the CIA in her younger years and at the Department of Aging in Anne Arundel County in her latter years.
Concetta was a faithful member of Saint Andrew By the Bay Catholic Church in Annapolis where she was an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion and later of Saint Mary of the Mills in Laurel.
She retired from the Department of Aging in 2002. Connie, as most of her friends called her, enjoyed volunteering at nursing homes, spending time with loved ones, watching Janet swim, watching Jason and Andrew play basketball, time with Lelina,and doing word searches. She joined her first bible study group at the age of 86. Most of her life was dedicated to taking care of others and living as a disciple of Christ. She was loved by all that knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet Waksmunski; grandsons, Andrew and Jason Moore; great-granddaughter, Lelina McNair Moore; and son-in-law, Mark Waksmunski.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Carmela; sisters, Mary and Janie; brothers, Sam, Paul, Mike, Frank, and Phil; and husband, Frank.
