Dr. Thomas worked for the State of Maryland as a Rehabilitation and Substance Abuse Counselor.  He then went on to open his own business, Thomas Comprehensive Counseling Service.  He provided counseling and rehabilitation services within the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area for over 27 years.

He received numerous awards and citations for his dedication to those he served.  After selling the company, he continued to provide consultant services as needed.

After officially retiring, Francis loved to share his life stories with anyone who would listen.  He was a good listener and an avid storyteller. He provided lots of valuable advice to those who would listen.  He spent many days and hours with his children and grandchildren.  He had a wealth of knowledge and was always generous with his time.
