Edna Powell Obituary

In Loving Memory of mother, sister, aunt and friend. Edna L. "Duvall" Powell 81 died on March 30, 2023 at Adventist Medical Center. She was born January 8, 1942 in Olney, MD to the late Vernon and Maude (Musgrove) Duvall. Edna grew up in Burtonsville, MD moved to Silver Spring, MD then lived in Laurel, MD for 36 years until her passing. She graduated from Sherwood High School in Silver Spring, MD in 1960. She worked for the American Postal Workers Union as an administrative assistant. Edna's goal in life was to be a loving mother to her son, Bobby. She loved tracing family roots and spending time with her family and friends.

Edna is survived by her loving son Bobby Powell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers George (Elizabeth), and Leroy (Betty), and sisters Irene (Calvert), Doris (Alton), Audrey (Melvin) and Marianna (Edwin).

The family will receive friends at Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A., 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel on Tuesday, April 4 from 10 to 11 AM when the funeral service will begin. Interment will be at Union Cemetery, Burtonsville. Memorial donations may be made to Spencerville Methodist Church.
