Edward Michael Dunn of Laurel, MD, died on his 61st birthday March 9, 2021. He was born in Washington, DC, the son of Johnny Dunn, and Elma Jackson.
Eddy Blake, graduated from Bowie Senior HS, 1978. Following graduation, he worked at NASA Space Flight Center. In the early 2000’s, Ed moved to Shreveport, LA for 17 years and worked as an electrician. He moved back to Maryland 2016 and worked for Harris Teeters, where he was fondly known as the “Chicken Man”, for his delicious fried chicken.
Ed was predeceased by both of his parents. Survived by sister Debb Dunn, son Justin Abell, sister/cousin Bev Williams-Ware, his aunts Margret, Ella, and Ruth and many more family and friends to include Teddy Bear.
He was a very funny and loving man, who loved to play the trumpet and sax. He enjoyed jam sessions with other musicians, singing harmony and was an amazing cook.
A service of celebration will be held Friday March 19, 2021 at Donaldson Funeral Home, 313 Talbot Ave, Laurel, Md 20707 from 4-6 pm. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, attendance at the funeral home is restricted to 50 family members.
