Jan Carlos Mezquita

Jan Carlos Mezquita, age 42, passed away in Baltimore, MD on Monday, October 2, 2023.  

Born September 29, 1981 in Panama. He was the son of Ricardo Mezquita and Magaly Arango Lewis.

He worked as a graphic designer for a kitchen, bars, and hotels.

Jan was a talented musician that could play just about any instrument. His favorite was the guitar. He also played in a band with his best friends. He had a love for animals; he rescued two dogs and a cat named: Pink, Page and Isabella. He named his dogs Pink because of Pink Floyd and Page of Jimmy Page -- they brought him joy and comfort.

He is survived by his parents: Ricardo Mezquita and Magaly Lewis; brother, Ricardo Mezquita A.; step-father, Christopher Lewis; grandmother, Claudia Montenegro; 3 aunts: Olga Arango, Mercedes Arango, Aixa Mezquita; and 4 uncles: Alfredo Arango, Mario Mezquita, Jan Roberto Mezquita and Axel Mezquita. 

Services will be held at St. Mary of the Mills Catholic Church, 114 Saint Mary’s Place, Laurel, MD 20707 on Thursday, October 5, 2023 starting at 11AM.

Jan Carlos Mezquita, de 42 años, falleció en Baltimore, MD, el lunes 2 de octubre de 2023.

Nacido el 29 de septiembre de 1981 en Panamá. Era hijo de Ricardo Mezquita y Magaly Arango Lewis.

Trabajó como diseñador gráfico para cocinas, bares y hoteles.

Jan era un músico talentoso que podía tocar casi cualquier instrumento. Su favorita era la guitarra. También tocó en una banda con sus mejores amigos. Amaba a los animales; rescató a dos perros y un gato llamados: Pink, Page e Isabella. Llamó a sus perros Pink por Pink Floyd y Page por Jimmy Page: le trajeron alegría y consuelo.

Le sobreviven sus padres: Ricardo Mezquita y Magaly Lewis; hermano, Ricardo Mezquita A.; padrastro, Christopher Lewis; abuela, Claudia Montenegro; 3 tías: Olga Arango, Mercedes Arango, Aixa Mezquita; y 4 tíos: Alfredo Arango, Mario Mezquita, Jan Roberto Mezquita y Axel Mezquita.

Los servicios se llevarán a cabo en la Iglesia Católica St. Mary of the Mills, 114 Saint Mary’s Place, Laurel, MD 20707 el jueves 5 de octubre de 2023 a partir de las 11 a.m.
