Joanne I. Sharbaugh passed away in Laurel, Maryland on March 26, 2022.
Born on June 24, 1929 in Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Thomas and Helen Favoccia.
She graduated from Altoona Catholic High School in 1946. Joanne worked side by side with her husband to build not only a beautiful family but was a partner in their family business for over 50 years. They worked decades to build first, Chevy Chase Glass in Bethesda, MD then Laurel Glass & Mirror in Laurel, MD. Although she was an entrepreneur her family always came first. Her most cherished moments in life were gatherings with her big Italian family and being present for all the lifetime achievements of every member of her clan. She was an inspiring and encouraging mother and grandmother and will be missed by all. She had a special relationship with each member of the family. She lived to love and made everyone feel like family. Joanne was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Laurel, MD.
Joanne is survived by her husband Raymond Sharbaugh of almost 70 years. Children Michael (Judy); Mary Anastasio (Frank); Susan Peacock; Kevin (Bonnie) and Beth McDonald (Alan). She is also survived by grandchildren; Chris Peacock (Gosia); Noelle Sharbaugh (Andy Hoyle); Nicholas Anastasio, Frank Anastasio (Joanna); Camille Brailsford (Brandon); William Sharbaugh (Thais); Christina Anastasio, Victoria Sharbaugh, Stephen Sharbaugh, Ryan McDonald (Laura) and Lauren McDonald. Five great grandchildren: Matthew, James, Frankie, Carmine and Julia and one due in August. She is preceded in death by her parents and sisters Celeste Campbell and Norma Gustitis.
