Kenneth Postell Werts (Kenny) was born on October 4. 1951 to the late Postell Werts and Laura Mae Irvin in Washington, D.C. Kenny was the second child, and youngest of two children.
Kenny attended public school in Washington, D.C. and graduated from Roosevelt High School. After high school, he attended Bowie State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree.
After college, Kenny worked for Advanced Data Systems Incorporated. He also worked as a substitute teacher at Johnson Junior High School in Washington, D.C. Kenny worked at Safeway in various positions for over 40 years until he retired. Kenny initially started working at Safeway part-time as a teenager and transitioned to full-time later in his career.
Kenny is survived by his sister, Better Moses; his partner, Patricia Brown; his nephews, Richard Carter and Postell Carter; his niece, Christine Carter-Kent; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
