Lauren Hayley Meinhardt born on Dec 6th, 1990 in Kings Lynn, Norfolk, England was called to rest on September 10th, 2023.
She was the deeply loved daughter of Helen and Leroy Meinhardt, born on her mother’s birthday and only sister to Thomas Meinhardt. Lauren graduated from VCU in Richmond, Virginia with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and a Minor in Psychology. She worked as a clinical nurse in the Alcohol Addiction Unit at the National Institute of Health, Bethesda, Maryland where she was well respected for her diligence and kind demeanor. Various aspects of her work were awarded, when Contact Tracing for Covid began, her method was made the gold standard. Lauren joined the Girl Scouts and achieved a Gold Award and also played the violin and performed throughout High School with the Rappahannock Youth Orchestra in Fredericksburg.
She was naturally artistic and in 4th Grade achieved First Place for a water color of a mare and foal that she titled Wisdom and Beauty. This was the first of many art awards from the Central Rappahannock Regional Library and the Dorothy Hart Community center in Fredericksburg, VA. The titles of her artworks were creative, in 7th Grade a pastel drawing of a cockatiel was titled Morning Glory and in 8th Grade an oil painting of an owl was titled Guardian of the Night, and a pastel drawing of a lion was titled Keeper Of The Den. From the age of ten throughout High School she took lessons from Gary Duquette at his Art Studio in Stafford, Va. Lauren was a devoted member of Aquia Episcopal Church, attending EYC throughout High School and going on annual Mission Trips. Lauren's interests included long walks in the countryside, her favorite being the trails alongside the Beaverdam Creek in Laurel where she walked her Australian Shepherd Luna, she loved all aspects of nature. In addition to her artwork, cycling and indoor rock climbing were other hobbies of hers that she liked to share with friends.
Lauren had a kind and caring heart and a smile that lit up the room. She was well loved by her family and many friends and colleagues and touched many lives and will be remembered for her kindness and warmth. Lauren's memory will be cherished by all who knew her, as she left an indelible mark on the lives of those around her.
Lauren’s Celebration of Life service will be held on October 6th at 11am at St Philip’s Episcopal Church, 522 Main Street, Laurel, MD20707.
