Meladean Carol Coon 72 of Laurel/Severn Maryland passed away in Baltimore Maryland on August 9th 2021.
Carol was born on November 10th, 1948 in Pemberton, West Virginia to James Theodore Lawson and Glenna Jenabee (Haga) Lawson. She lived most of her life in Laurel taking care of her family.
Carol is survived by her brother James T. Lawson, Jr and his wife Susan, her 3 son’s Michael D. Coon, Jr, Kenneth W. Coon and Gary T. Coon and his wife Sara, nephew Joshua T. Lawson and his wife Monique, grandchildren Amber Kettenhofen and husband Cypress, Brett Coon, Kimberlyn Coon, Dalton Coon, Cheyenne Coon, Dakota Coon, Katelyn Coon, Madeline Coon and Gabrielle Coon, great-grandchildren Isabelle, Noah and Wilhelm Kettenhofen, and great nephew and niece Tristin and Mila Lawson. Carol was preceded in death by her parents James and Glenna Lawson, her daughter-in-law Trista Gail Coon and grand-daughter Brandi Saylor.
Carol worked as a cashier most of her life for several different companies, remaining at Safeway until retiring. Carol loved her job and looked forward to seeing and talking with all of her customers. In the past Carol enjoyed spending time with friends traveling to different Casinos throughout the country. She enjoyed making doll clothes and selling them at craft fairs with her mom and later with her Granddaughter. Most recently she enjoyed the company of her family.
Visitation will be on Thursday August 12th at Donaldson Funeral Home in Laurel from 2-4 and 6-8, followed by Funeral Services at the same location (chapel) on Friday morning at 11 am, concluding with interment at Union Cemetery in Burtonsville.
