Melvin Edward Harris, Sr.

Melvin Edwards Harris, Senior was 57 years old when his soul suddenly entered eternal rest on September 26, 2020. He was born in Washington, DC on September 3, 1963. He precedes both his parents Olivia Harris Stanfield and Herbert C. Harris, Jr. Together they had 4 children, Herbert Harris III, Cynthia “Penny” Harris, Melvin, and Rosette Harris. Melvin was their youngest son and third child. He is affectionately known as “DC” to many friends. Melvin always had a smile on his face and a joke on his lips.

Melvin enjoyed a life of coast to coast transportation. He was fun loving and enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends. He shared a special bond with his nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. He was a loving brother, uncle,  father, grandfather, and friend. He leaves behind his son, Melvin E. Harris, Jr. He was the paternal grandfather to four grandchildren Khalil Harris, Amarion Harris, Jaxson Harris (deceased), and Ariyah Harris.

The family will receive friends at the Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A. 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel on Monday, October 12 from 12 PM to 1 PM when the service will begin.

He is greatly missed, and will be forever fondly remembered.
