Ollie DiPietro Obituary

Ollie Ione Keith DiPietro, 96, of Laurel, MD , passed away on May 1, 2023.

Ollie was born in Purvis, MS to John and Clotille Keith on March 4, 1927. She married Robert P. DiPietro on November 27, 1945 in Sacred Heart Church, Hattiesburg, MS. She retired from the National Security Agency, Ft. Meade, MD. From the time of her arrival in Laurel in 1945 she was a member of St Mary of the Mills Catholic Church and volunteered in the Ladies of Charity and at St. Mary’s School. She also volunteered with the Missionary Servants of the Most Holy Trinity, the Laurel Beltsville Hospital and the Antonio Gatto Lodge of the Sons & Daughters of Italy In America. She received many certificates of appreciation from work, charitable, government and community organizations reflecting her dedication to all her endeavors. No matter who met mom they quickly found they had a friend for life. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family and her friends, especially The Lunch Bunch, the Thursday Night Bowling League, The Friday Night Budget Committee (poker gang) and the Senior Fellowship Club. She loved music and dancing, the occasional Manhattan and casino trip, and, for reasons never understood by friends and family, the Dallas Cowboys.

Ollie is survived by her sons John and Bob and her daughter Marie, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Ollie is preceded in death by her husband Bob, her grandson John David and her five brothers and sisters.

Ollie will be cremated. A funeral mass will be held at St Mary of the Mills Church on Saturday, May 27 at 11:00 A.M. followed by interment in the church cemetery. Arrangements are by Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A.

Donations may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association or the University of Maryland Laurel Medical Center.
