Perry Frank Iannaconi, Sr. died on September 3, 2023 following almost 81 years of loving, joy filled and productive life. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Teresa (Terry) Iannaconi. He is also survived by his two daughters, Amelia (Amy) Luycx and Angela Peerman as well as their husbands, Ron Luycx and Kris Peerman, his grandchildren, Rosemary Gilmore and her husband Bryan, Matthew and Jimmy Luycx and Jimmy’s wife, Cassie Luycx, Cerri and Daniel Peerman, and great grandchildren, Alex and Nicholas Luycx. Perry was pre-deceased by his son Perry Frank Iannaconi, Jr.
Perry was born in Jersey City, New Jersey where he attended St Ann’s Elementary School and St. Peter’s Prep high School. He graduated from Georgetown University and received a Master’s degree in Mathematics from American University.
Perry was ordained as a Roman Catholic deacon in 2002 and served in St Nicholas parish in Laurel, Maryland from ordination until his retirement in 2018, Prior to his ordination as a deacon, Perry worked as a mathematician for National Security Agency for 38 years.
Perry will be remembered for his many years of service as a coach, referee and cheerleader for the many youth activities in which his children engaged. He taught his and other children and adults how to ride a bike, surf the waves and throw a ball. He was best known for his imaginative and colorful reading of stories to his children and grandchildren.
His sense of humor and joy of life as well as his spiritual leadership will be greatly missed.
The family requests that no flowers be sent. In lieu of flowers anyone so inclined may make a donation to St Nicholas Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus chapter at St Nicholas, Catholic Charities or any other charitable organization of the donor's preference.
