Joseph (Joe) Vinci passed away on May 27th, 2019 at the age of 88 at home in Ellicott City, MD. Born Petro Joseph Vinci to Joseph and Mary Margaret Vinci on August 28th, 1930. He was diagnosed with dementia which he fought for the last several years until his death. Joe grew up in Baltimore City and was a US Navy Veteran who served on the USS Bausell as a Fireman, USN. In 1960, he married the love of his life Josephine (Josie) Nocar. Together they had two children, daughter Angela (Butler) and son Michael. In 1962, Joe and Josie purchased a home in the then new development of Maryland City in Laurel, MD, where they the resided for 37 years before moving to Ellicott City, MD. Joe coached baseball and basketball for the local Maryland City Civic Association and enjoyed all of the kids he coached. Joe worked as a Purchasing Agent at Fairchild Industries in Germantown, MD until he retired in the early 1990's. He had a great retirement and loved being around his grandchildren Julie, Ricky and Kelli. Joe always maintained an infectious, youthful spirit; he loved to play jokes and make people laugh. He collected model cars, classic toys and chances are you could catch him tinkering in his workshop most of the time. He is survived by his wife Josie, and sisters Anna Kobsa and Constance Phillips. He was preceded in death by both parents and brother Ronald Rictor.
