Richard Murray Obituary

Richard "Dickie" Hugh Murray, age 77, passed away peacefully at Howard County General Hospital, Columbia, MD, on January 18, 2021 at 3:25 p.m.

Richard was born on March 2, 1943 in Prince George's County, MD, to William Hugh Murray and Eleanor Lena Sherman Murray.  He lived in Savage, MD and worked for Electrical General and Garbart Construction as an electrician and carpenter until retiring in 2005.

Richard is survived by his wife of 40 years, Terri Murray, and five Daughters, Lena (Jerry) Furr, Teresa Murray-Fearrington, Tracy (Michael) Scheg, Karen (David) Faulconer, Monique (Brian) Cox; Grandsons Michael Scheg, TJ (Faulconer) Salzman, Ashton Faulconer, Zane Cox, Nolan (Fearrington) Bates; Granddaughter Danielle (Nuzback) Gaston; Great Grandchildren Daiji Fitchett, Andre Fitchett; Great Great Granddaughter (to be) Nova; many nieces and nephews and many close friends and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother William and sisters Edna Campbell, Betty Lou Wesley and Margaret Ferguson and one grandson, Nicholas Pugh.

Richard enjoyed being with his family most and is so proud of each and every one of them for their achievements in life.  His favorite pastime was betting the horses with his many friends at the Laurel Park Race Track.  "Come on with that 7 horse" (with a downward motion of his arm) was what everyone around him could hear him hollering as the horses came around the bend towards the finish line.  He also enjoyed his summer tomatoes, fresh out of his own garden.

A memorial service for Richard will be held at a later date.
