She was the devoted wife of George C. Kent of St. Simons Island, Georgia. They married on August 14, 1949 in Thomasville, Georgia. They were married for almost 31 years until he died in 1980.

She is survived by her stepson Micheal John Kent of Maplewood, New Jersey and her two daughters Jacqueline Kent Telford of Kerrville, Texas and Martha Dee Kent of Rockville, Maryland.

She enjoyed working. During WWII, prior to her marriage she worked for the Department of the Navy at Glencoe Naval Air Station in Georgia. Here she again worked for the Department of the Navy for a career lasting over 20 years. She retired in 1998 after serving as Deputy Director of Security for one of the facilities of the Office of Naval Research.

Although we only saw each other one time she lived in my heart and we held fast to the research that paved the way for her entry into the Daughters of the American Revolution.  She was born on July 4th and told me that she was born a Patriot and I believe she lived up to that Title.  Thank you for your long distance friendship and kinship with lots of people.  We will miss you.
