Stephen James Day was born on November 22, 1970 in Washington, DC to the late Steven James Day and the late Ethel Day (Brown). Stephen departed this life at the age of 50 on Saturday, February 6, 2021 in Columbia, MD.
As a child Stephen lived in Kentucky and Africa for two or more years before he and his family settled in the DC/Maryland area. Stephen received his education in the District of Columbia and graduated from Duke Ellington School of the Arts in 1988.
“Steve”, as he was lovingly known by family and friends worked in the IT field and held various IT certifications. He was known as a hard worker and was well-liked by his employers and coworkers. He was the type of person who never hesitated to help those in need. His last position was an IT Specialist at Merkle, Inc. located in Columbia, MD.
Steve was known as a jokester and loved to make people laugh. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching and going to the movies, drawing, cooking, listening, and DJ’ing music, playing video games, and spending time with friends and family. Steve will be remembered for his kind sprit, infectious laugh, amazing drawing talents, and in-depth conversations.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Leilani Williams-Day of Columbia, MD. One sister, Ayanna Day-Ross of Laurel, MD; one nephew, Mathias S. Ross of Laurel, MD; and special family friend The Pendarvis’ and a host of friends.
Scattering of his cremated remains will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021
